Round 3 - Callani

Here's our Emperor's family as the third Roman round begins. Emperor Varius is still unmarried, since his betrothed isn't older than a child yet.
Row 1: Akinyi Nixeira (slave, standing), Caelina Nixeira (slave, standing), Drusa Nixeira (slave, standing)
Row 2: Varius Callani (Emperor, sitting), Januarius Callani (heir, sitting)
Row 3: Albanus Callani (Emperor's brother, sitting), Marcellina Callani (Emperor's sister, sitting)
Changes from when we last left them is the arrival of Drusa, who's taking the place of Marianus as he's left the Palace to become a gladiator. The Callani's now have three generations of Nixeira women as housekeepers!

First thing to happen: Saturnina, who's visiting as usual, breaks down over... something. It seems like everytime I enter the lots where there's a family sim they are having deep aspiration failures. Probably because everyone is related by now and they always seems to have a fear of a relative dying... Sigh.

Maybe it's not strange at all, considering how the Callani-siblings just lost both their parents. Here's Zephania saying goodbye before moving to his mausoleum.

His wife Monifa does the same.

Albanus just recently became an adult, and has chosen to walk in his father's footsteps with the military as his career.

The little future Empress Sabina comes for a visit at the Palace! She's one of my favourites, but let's pretend I don't have any.

Drusa seems to like it at the Palace. Although she has a lot of work to do all the days, I bet growing up here beats growing up in the dirty apartment where her twin sister Antonia is.

The next morning the Callani's make a visit to the Emperor's Mausoleum, where their father is resting.

There was a lot of tears and anguish as Zephania's children mourned him.

To visit their mother, they had to walk to the cemetary next to the Mausoleum. Here they have another one reserved for their family, where the remains of the ones who weren't emperor's lay.

Of course, this wasn't an easy visit either.

While their brother's spend most of their days at work, the younger siblings build up their skills.

Of course, this household can't go a round without someone dying... This time it's old Akinyi, who succumbs to one of the diseases running in the neighborhood.

Bye, Akinyi... There's not many generation 2's still alive anymore, maybe this is their last round... Makes me a little sad.

The only one to notice her passing was her daughter Caelina, who's now lost both of her parents.

Albanus is turning out to be a natural in his career, quickly climbing the Military ladder by getting promotions almost daily.

The family is a calm bunch, mostly keeping to themselves. Instead of having affairs or fights, the most dramatic things to happen are Varius cheating in a game of chess against his brother...

As always, they pay a visit to the Baths, where the slaves take their seasonal showers.

Instead of bathing, the ruling family wanted to throw ball with some of their subjects. Should make them a little more popular, no?

... I guess not. I'm not sure where she went wrong, but Tacitus doesn't seem happy with Marcellina at all.

When they arrive home, it's time for Drusa to become a teenager. My first generation 4 teen! I can barely believe it. Drusa is a family sim (so I guess we have many breakdowns to witness) and a very neat girl.
