Round 9 - Callaraius

If this looks like a happy family, you're sadly mistaken. Marcellina very recently discovered her husband was cheating on her, and they have also just been victims of a tragedy at the Palace.

Row 2: Faustina Callaraius (daughter, sitting), Atilius Callaraius (second son, sitting), Sextus Callaraius (third son, sitting), Gratiana Callaraius (second daughter)
The person killed at the Colosseum last round was their house slave Quintus, and now he's been replaced by young Fremin.

First things first - let's say goodbye to old Quintus Nixeira.

The tragedy has just started, though. Both Hortensius and Iuvenalis has already had time to lose fights this round, and Death comes for both of them.

Marcellina can live with losing her cheating husband - her eldest son though, she can't. She goes down on her knees and begs Grimmie to spare Iuvenalis.

Death is merciful and Iuvenalis stays with us!

But we still have to say goodbye to the Head of the family, Hortensius.

While Hortensius wife won't mourn him, his children will.

Faustina is deep in aspiration failure and takes it out on the poor flowers.

... And then she attacks Martialis Callius.

And loses. Of course...

But if she dies, there will be trouble among the Patrician betrothals, so I allow her mother to plead this once.

Marcellina successfully saved two of her childrens lives in one day.

Now for some happier news; Sextus has his birthday.

Here he is as a teenager. Sextus is a fortune sim.

The slave Fremin also had his birthday that night, and here he is, a romance sim. He looks pretty good!

Finally old enough for kitchen duties, but not especially good at it.

I knew it, god damn it Faustina... Not even married and already WooHoo:ed two slaves.

And, surprise surprise, she's knocked up!

A calm day passes and Faustina's belly grows again.

Iuvenalis has time to become an adult.

Here he is! He looks a lot like his dead father.

With Death visiting so many times this round, Marcellina wishes for the power to cheat death.

These two are head over heels in love. Too bad this and their bastard is all they can have...

Back home, Faustina starts giving birth!

She has a little daughter, named Miroslava.

Round 8 - Callaraius

It's the Callaraius family's turn, and they are expecting a seventh member any hour.

I know that Quintus and master Hortensius are best friends but this is a little indiscreet for my taste...

The family make sure to spend some time in their garden before the snows come.

Suddenly, Marcellina goes into labor. (Please excuse glitchy picture)

She has a baby girl! (I'm starting to think this neighborhood is cursed...) They name her Gratiana, and she makes the 100th living sim in the neighborhood! Woho!

When Hortensius comes home from work, Marcellina goes and give him a thumbs up, haha. Everything is good!

For a while, at least. Quintus starts the next day with a fire while making toast...

Hortensius has to act hero because Quintus is too busy panicking. No one is injured, luckily.

Atilius and Sextus spend all their time playing with each other, it's really nice to see.

Another thing I liked seeing was that Quintus seems to prefer to WooHoo his wife Fulvia instead of Faustina. Good choice!

Little Gratiana has her birthday.

Here she is!

Marcellina starts teaching her little daughter at once.

She's a natural at talking.

It's Quintus turn to become an elder too now!

Here he is. He somehow looks really old at once, lol.

Atilius has a birthday as well.

Here he is. He's a knowledge sim just like his older brother.

Speaking of Iuvenalis... He likes to check out the future Head of the Callaraius family in the mirror, looking all proud.

While Marcellina was a great mother to all of the older children, she barely plays with little Gratiana. Maybe her patience ran out...

This scary situation happened at the Baths!

Once back home, there's time for a last birthday; Gratiana's second.

Here's the little cutie.

She's just as wild as her brothers.

Iuvenalis managed to make an enemy in Maxima Nixitus. She's already murdered someone, so he'd better watch out now...
