Here we have the Zima family. They are slaves, living in one of the apartments, except for two of them. Uduak and Seneca work for different Patricians and live in their houses.
Row 1: Iuliana Zimayo (heir's betrothed, sitting), Tatianus Zima (heir, standing), Dalitso Zima (Head of the family, standing), Martina Zima (second daughter, sitting)
Row 2: Luciana Zima (fourth daughter, sitting), Aurelia Zima (third daughter, sitting)
Differences from when we left them last round are: Iuliana moved in to marry Tatianus, and Septimius left the household to marry Valeriana Zimayo and start a new branch of the family with her.
As I enter the apartment, I notice Martina is already having a mental breakdown. It's really not easy being a family sim when everyone in the neighborhood are cousins and people die like flies. I believe she might be upset because the man she was going to marry - Rufinus Nixsana, was murdered by his brother, and now she has to stay at her father's apartment another round while we wait for someone else to get of age. Poor Martina...
At least Tatianus is getting married. Iuliana is already pregnant - not with her husband, though, but with Rufinus, who I just mentioned. It's a bit complicated, but he's dead, she's pregnant, and that's that. Anyhow, now Iuliana Zimayo simply becomes Iuliana Zima.
The sweet guests. Martina can't even clap like a sane person.
Emperor Varius walks past and she tries to flirt with him, which is not appreciated.
That belly is getting bigger and bigger.
Birthday time! First up, Tatianus, who's becoming an adult.
Second, little Luciana, the youngest of the eight Zima-children, finally becomes a teenager.
Here we have Tatianus afterwards.
And here's Luciana. They look a lot like each other. The girl has become an outgoing romance sim (which means they even have the same aspiration).
Martina, washing herself in the only way available when you live in one of the slave apartments. Unless you walk to the Bathing House, of course, but they only do that once per season.
Iuliana is at last giving birth to her little bastard.
It turns out to be a little boy. Iuliana gives him the name Marcius, and Tatianus decides that his last name will not be Zima, but Iuliana's maiden name, Zimayo.
As they attempt to make some children of their own, the couple falls in love. Yay!
With the threat of the Colosseum always hanging over his head, Tatianus uses a simple rope to try to build up his body skill. In case he ever has to be in a fight, he wants to be the one surviving.
Marcius grows up to a toddler and he's a lot cuter than I expected him to be.
Iuliana is happy to notice that she's pregnant again, and this time with her husband.
When he realizes that the family is going to have more mouths to feed, Dalitso starts worrying about how they are going to provide for the little children. He decides to try to help his son instead of just being another one of those mouths, and gets himself involved with the criminal parts of the city.
Finally, a shower! It's time for a visit to the Baths.
Newly washed and full of confidence, Aurelia notices the Emperor at the Baths, and does her best to impress him. After all, he's still unmarried, and if the Emperor isn't worth a shot, then who is?
Maybe she takes things a little too far...
I'm very happy to see that these cuties actually likes each other.
Tatianus is a good man. Although Marcius isn't his, he gives the boy attention and isn't unfair to him. After all, it isn't the little one's fault what his parents did as teenagers.
