Round 1 - Callani

New Era, new playing order, new start with the rounds. This is really round 13, but I will call it 1 since it's the first in the Roman Era. I begin with the Emperor's family, and will then continue from the top of society to the bottom. Here are some pictures of the Palace:

Not too much of the interior, but I figured it might show in the rest of the pictures.

Let me introduce you to the members of the Callani-family, also known as the Emperor's family. Here we have him, the Emperor himself, Zephania Callani. He's a romance sim, and also active and grouchy.

The Emperor's wife, Monifa Callani (born Nixeira, but let's everybody pretend like she's not). She's a neat popularity sim.

Their firstborn child, Saturnina Callani. Like her father, she's active and grouchy, but instead she is a family sim.

The Callani's oldest son and heir, Varius Callani, who has pretty much the same personality as his sister and father, and just like his father, he's a romance sim.

Albanus Callani is the family's second son, but since he has skin 3 he's not eligable as Emperor. Don't worry though, he will always live a luxurious life, as he will become a Patrician when he marries. He's more like his mother in the personality (by which I mean he's neat), and he's a pleasure sim.

Second in line for the Emperor's seat is young Januarius Callani.

The youngest of the family is little Marcellina Callani. I will tell you more about the children when they become teenagers.

Of course, the family has slaves. To be more precise, they have three slaves living in the Palace with them. The first one is Akinyi Nixeira, a mother of eight who had to leave (almost) all of her children behind to work for the Emperor, even though her husband recently died.

Akinyi's oldest daughter, Nona Nixeira, also works in the Palace. She's dreaming of having a big family, but whether she will or not only time will tell.

Their third slave is Vibianus Zimayo, whose mother recently abandoned him and his sisters to live a rich life when a man who later became a Patrician married her. Now we works at the Palace while his sisters try to survive in one of the slave apartments.

The first day of the new era happens to be Saturnina's birthday from teenager to adult. The family throw a party and invite all the Patricians to celebrate with them and share some cake.

Here we have the birthday girl as an adult. She will be staying at the Palace until her cousin Caecilius Callarai becoms old enough for marriage.

She makes some attempts to get to know her future husband now when she has the chance, but it doesn't go too well. Hopefully their marriage goes better...

Akinyi is the kitchen slave, which means that she prepares and serves the meals for the Emperor's family. The others, Nona and Vibianus, are the ones responsible for cleaning and gardening.

Emperor Zephania is a man of the military and has to leave the Palace almost daily because of business of the Empire. When he returns home, he usually gets a hug from his happy youngest son Januarius.

Speaking of the boy, he has his birthday the day after his sister. The family throw another party as the boy becomes a teenager.

Here he is, a little older. He looks just like his father. Januarius is a neat popularity sim like his mother Monifa, but he's also active like his father.

The next night, Akinyi turns into an elder. Not surprisingly, there was not a party to celebrate this. The young man in the background is Caecilius Callarai, by the way, Saturnina's betrothed.

But that doesn't mean that the family didn't throw a third party this round. The Callani-heir himself had his birthday too, where he became an adult.

This is Varius Callani all grown up. Since he has no female cousins (yet, one is in the belly and might still be a girl), he has no betrothed and will stay single until he has a female cousin and she is old enough for marriage. Considering he's a romance sim, I don't think he minds this much.

The following day it's finally time to go to the Bathing House. The slaves enjoy a much longed for (and needed) shower, since they are not allowed to bath at the Palace.

The Emperor's family are already clean, and simply enjoy some time in the hot tubs instead.

When they get back home, Varius attempts cooking. I think he better leave that to Akinyi...

Vibianus, being the good slave that he is and cleaning autonomously. There are reasons why these three work at the Palace and not other ones (they are simply the most neat and active slaves).

But things are already about to change when Nona decides to attack her fellow slave even though they are friends...

And she kills him. He was the only male carrier of the name Zimayo. Sigh...

Nona immediately regrets her actions and rolls a fear of Vibianus dying, so I have her plead for his life. Unfortunately, she is unsuccessful...
